wedding party entrance songs, bridal party entrance songs, wedding party reception entrance songs, wedding party entrance song, wedding reception entrance songsYou are about to start your Grand Entrance!  Of course, your mind goes directly to the bride and groom being announced into the room to a lot of applause.  The reality is, that part is the end of the grand entrance!  The grand finale, the climactic conclusion, the Bam! Said the lady! of the entrance.  What you need to focus on right now is choosing the bridal party entrance songs.  And there is even someone else who typically gets introduced even before them!  Who comes in first?

When it comes to your wedding reception entrance songs, you first should consider the order in which your important people will come in.  First off, the bride and groom’s parents are introduced.  Keep in mind that this is optional!  If you have parents who are separated or divorced–or just don’t like the spotlight and would rather not be introduced–you can skip or remove the parents from the wedding reception entrance.  More details are covered in the Wedding Songs Timeline Planner regarding this part of the entrance.

Here are a few ideas, a short list, if you will, of some great wedding party entrance songs that work–sorry, that ROCK!

After the parents come the wedding party proper.  We are talking bridesmaids, groomsmen, best men, maid or matrons of honor, you name it!  The wedding party reception entrance songs can and should be upbeat.  You certainly don’t want them as low key as your wedding processional music, which are your entrance songs into the ceremony.  These wedding processional songs are typically quiet classical pieces.  Even your wedding recessional songs, although faster and typically upbeat, might not have the oomph you’re looking for.  You can also use a separate song for each couple if you prefer.  Be careful with that, though, as sometimes the song may reflect the groomsman’s personality, but not the bridesmaid’s and vice versa.  Again, I thoroughly go over the main points regarding introducing the wedding party in the planner.

There are a few guidelines I want to put forth so you have a successful entrance.  I’ll give these away for free because they are critical.   First, try to find instrumental songs to bring in the wedding party peeps.  There’s nothing worse than having the DJ screaming over the lyrics, trying to announce the names of the bridal party so they are discernible.  If you do use full songs, try to get to the meat of the song–the chorus.  I explain the “cut to chorus” technique in the Wedding Songs Timeline Planner.  Finally, whatever wedding party entrance song or songs you choose, do your best to find selections that do not outdo yours, the bride and grooms, entrance song!  Although the wedding party is important, you should still keep in mind that YOU are the main attraction.  If you are entering to a more romantic song, then you should be find with high energy grand entrance songs for your wedding party…as long as your song fits YOU!

Immediately after your grand entrance, you can go directly into your wedding first dance songs or into the toasts. You might pick up some energy from your toasts if they add some funny quotes about marriage in there, but don’t count on it.   Later in the evening, you will be utilizing your father and daughter wedding songs and the garter toss songs and so on.  These will also have a completely different feel from your entrance tunes.  You really want to kick off your wedding with a bang so make your entrance songs rock!
